Mit dem neuen TVT-KVGA schliessen Sie jetzt Ihren PC-VGA-Monitor und eine herkömmliche PC-Tastatur
(PS2) ohne viel Aufwand an die serielle Schnittstelle (TXD/RXD, 9600 Baud 8N1) Ihres Mikrocontrollers an !

- Grafische Displays stellen, vor allem wegen ihres Daten- und Speicherbedarfes, oftmals zu hohe
Anforderungen an kleine 8-Bit-Mikrocontrollersysteme. Ein Fullscreen-Bild in VGA-Auflösung benötigt
bereits in schwarz-weiss etwa 38 KByte Speicherplatz! Obwohl der TVT-KVGA keine vollwertige Grafik
bietet, ermöglicht sein integrierter Balkengrafik-Modus eine ansprechende Darstellung farbiger und
beschrifteter Messdiagramme, und ist damit gut an die Leistungsfähigkeit kleiner
Mikrocontroller-Systeme angepasst.
- Der TVT-KVGA ist, insbesondere wegen seiner Shutdown-Fähigkeit, seiner Darstellungs-
möglichkeiten sowie seiner kompakten Abmessungen, eine ideale Erweiterung auch für mobile
Systeme, an welchen ein VGA-Monitor und/oder eine PC-Tastatur nur gelegentlich und bei Bedarf
betrieben werden soll.

Möchten Sie anstelle eines VGA-Monitors lieber ein TV-Gerät einsetzen ?
Auch dies ist möglich, mit unseren Controllern TVT-MOBI-2, TVT-MBKD-11 und
TVT-CBKD-11 (nur PAL). TV-Geräte sind allerdings meist nicht so flimmerfrei
wie VGA-Bildschirme (50Hz gegenüber 60Hz), daneben als Flachbildschirm (TFT)
recht teuer, und lassen sich nicht per Befehl in einen Energiesparmodus schalten.
Wenn das alles kein Problem darstellt, können unsere TV-Controller

- Graphical displays are a burden for small 8-bit-Microcontroller-systems, particularly because of
their data and memory demands (a full-screen picture in VGA resolution and only in black&white
needs 38 kBytes of memory !). Although the TVT-KVGA is not a full-fledged graphics controller,
its integrated barchart-graphics mode enables an appealing presentation of colored and labeled
measurement-diagrams, and is well adapted to the application area of small microcontroller systems.
- The TVT-KVGA is very suitable to be integrated as an extension also into mobile systems, which
only occasional need a monitor and/or a keyboard to be connected. This is particularly because
of its shutdown-feature, its performance and its compact dimensions.

Do you prefer to use a TV-monitor instead of a VGA-monitor as a display ?
This is also possible, if you use our controllers TVT-MOBI-2, TVT-MBKD-11
or TVT-CBKD-11 (PAL only). But remember: TV-sets are not as flicker-free as
VGA-Monitors (50Hz vs. 60Hz), flat screen TVs (TFT) are quite expensive,
and probably the most important: they cannot be switched to an energy
saving mode by command.
If these facts are not important for you, then our TV-controllers might
fulfill your needs.
